Memorable Moments for your Monday

So this past weekend, I was a GUEST at a wedding! It's been a while since I've been to a wedding in this capacity, so I was a little unsure what to do! I wanted to get in there and light the candles, fold the napkins, set out the place cards... but alas, the wedding planners had taken care of everything and all was in its place. There was nothing for me to do but enjoy the night. So that's exactly what we did! The food was delicious. The couple looked amazing. The DJ was on point - (he had to be given he was DJ'ing a DJ's wedding!) And so the dance floor was the place to be. I won't go into detail, but let's just say my husband is not a wallflower when there's a dance floor and a good DJ. He was all over it. And so were the photographers and videographers I'm afraid. I forsee some pretty embarassing pictures in our future.

But it reminded me just how important your entertainment is at your wedding reception. Whether you chose a DJ or Band (or sometimes both), they are really the ones in charge at a reception and can make or break the flow of the evening. Fortunately, I've had only great experiences with the DJ's I've worked with over the years. They are some of the best in the business and know just how to keep your guests on the dance floor. And it's a good thing because it's one of the most memorable moments for couples - that time they get to celebrate and finally let loose after all the planning and detailing and selecting and waiting, waiting, waiting! So it's no surprise that several of my past brides picked out the dance portion of their wedding as one of their most memorable moments. Here's a few:

One of our favorite moments was the entire reception actually! We had so much fun dancing the night away. It was so fun and still is, to look back at our video and see how much fun everybody had!

Everything at the reception was beyond what I expected! The food was terrific, the Photo Booth was a hit, and of course the DJ was playing the best songs! All of the first dances were lovely and my husband did not drop me when he dipped me during our first dance. We were doing great! We were dancing to "Friends in low places" by Garth Brooks and I see the DJ singing and started laughing. He takes the mic off the stand and points it at me. I went up and started doing karaoke with the entire wedding! We were all circled around together on the terrace singing this song! The entire crowd was singing together and seemed really into it! I have never been to a wedding were we did karaoke, but I have to say, I will never forget it. It was something we can always remember from our BHI adventure wedding! - Ashton F.

The dance floor at our wedding was a major highlight. We had an incredible DJ who had everyone dancing into the wee hours of the morning. I'll never forget the energy and pure joy on that dance floor as we danced the night away with our nearest and dearest. - Ann S.

One of my favorite moments was when the band had my husband and his groomsmen on stage singing "My Girl" to me. - Heather Y.

And here's a few from my wedding back in 2012. Like I said, my husband is no wallflower when there's a dance floor and a good DJ and either are most of our friends and family apparently.

Coincidentally, our DJ was the groom at this past weekend's wedding and I could not be happier for him and his new wife! They both deserve every happiness this world has to offer. Love them!

Best, Shauna
