Season of Giving

The holidays seem to come faster and faster every year and if you're not careful, you blink and they're over! This year was a whirlwind of celebrations unlike any other holiday season. It started with the wedding of Brit & Zac on Bald Head Island on December 19th that Shauna Loves Planning coordinated. Brit & Zac got married at the Village Chapel at noon and then had an early afternoon reception with their closest family and friends. It was a beautiful December day... a little chilly, but the sun was out and shining brightly on the beautiful couple. I had a blast working with both families and the other wedding vendors to plan this special day for the two of them!

Immediately following the wedding, our holiday vacation began and we headed out for stop one in Raleigh, NC. We had a great time celebrating with my sister-in-law in her final days of pregnancy (due today actually, but more on that in a bit.)

A couple days later we hopped on a plane to Seattle, WA to celebrate a couple birthdays and christmas gatherings with my family. Santa was extra good to my boys and my nephews, (and so was grandma and grandpa), but more than that, we enjoyed a lot of good food, yummy wine, great company and precious time with friends and family.

After a week in Seattle, we flew back to Raleigh to celebrate the birth of my niece, Hadley Elizabeth. She was kind enough to wait until we got back to make her grand appearance on 12/30/15 at 5:57pm! She is such a doll and so, so, tiny. I don't ever remember my boys being that small. And she sure did make my "baby" Maddox look gigantic! So we spent another weekend in Raleigh getting to know her and letting her cousins give her lots and lots and lots of hugs.

But today it's back to reality! And my reality is this... Giving Feels Good. Everyone feels good when they give to someone, whether it's a special gift to a friend or family member, a gift of your time to an organization, a monetary donation to someone in need or an annonymous gift to the stranger in the coffee drive-thru behind you. It just.feels.good. I have a vendor friend who, every December, takes his family out to eat and randomly picks up the tab for 5 or so other tables dining in that restaurant. What a treat for those diners and what a great lesson he's teaching his young children. I love it.

So with the holiday season ending and the new year beginning, Shauna Loves Planning is going to start the year off right and offer a special promotion for anyone who books with us in the next two months. When you book your wedding planning services with Shauna Loves Planning, you will receive 10% off your package price + 5% of the price will be donated to the Make a Wish Foundation!
